Admissions Process: What to Expect?
First: The Application
An application for admission requires psychological, social and health history and educational information. In some instances, evidence of guardianship may be required.
Next: The Assessment
An assessment is required for admission and can be arranged at the convenience of the family. The assessment process includes a personal interview with the interdisciplinary team, a tour of our facilities, and an overnight stay (if applicable).
Possible Alternative Arrangements
In those instances in which we are no able to fully serve the needs of the individual, we will suggest alternative arrangements.

While the admission process may often be somewhat lengthy, we make every attempt to expedite it. Your cooperation in providing us with the proper documentation is greatly appreciated.
FAQs
How often can we visit?
Family and friend visitation is encouraged as frequently as possible. We encourage family participation in the lives and special programs of each of our residents.
What about transportation?
McCall's fleet of vehicles includes wheelchair accessible vans, minibuses and full-sized sedans. Special transportation arrangements can be made for travel.
How are programming needs decided?
An interdisciplinary team develops a plan that fits the special needs of each person. Members of the team can include: client, staff, family, members, QIDP/Case Manager, vocational services & professionals. Some of the goals of the team can be: money management, personal care, time management, and employment opportunities.
Is there funding available?
McCall's is a private, not-for-profit [501(c)(3)], non-denominational corporation. We accept a variety of funding including: private tuition, Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS), Social Security/Social Security Disability (SS/SSI) and Medicaid (Title XIX) funding for qualified individuals.
How long is the admission process?

What are the requirements for application?
An application for admission requires psychological, social, and health history, and educational information. In some instances, evidence of guardianshipmay be required. The potential client must have a diagnosis prior to age 18 of intellectual disability with an IQ level of 70 or below for ICF/IID (Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities). Group Home qualifications are IQ of 80 and below.
What ages does McCall's serve?
We serve individuals that are at least 18 years of age or older.
Is McCall's a temporary placement?
McCall’s is a long term care facility providing long term placement for those with intellectual disabilities. McCall’s’ provides a wide range of services which include medically fragile, vocational, group homes, ICF/IID, and community placement.
